If you have not visited the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire, England, then a delight awaits you. One of the first areas to be designated as a National Park, the Peak District is amazing in its variety of natural beauty, historic villages, small rural towns, unique stately homes and interesting events throughout the year. The historic village of Eyam is at the heart of the Peak District. Thousands of visitors from all over the United Kingdom come to this village, which is now a conservation area, because of what happened in Eyam between 1665 and 1666 and the heroism of its inhabitants when the Plague struck this small village with devastating consequences.
