Lake Placid has perfect surroundings for anytime of year. You can visit the Olympic Training Center, Whiteface Mountain (site of the downhill races), the Ski Jumps, Luge, and Cross-Country Trails at Mt. Van Hoevenberg, or many of the other attractions that Lake Placid has to offer. Spend a few days touring around and then go for a hike outside of town or a swim in the majestic Mirror Lake in town.
