Hemet is the new Jewel of California. It boasts the new Diamond Valley Lake, a man-made storage lake for Southern California, and it is about 2 miles from Twin Palms Ranch. It is the largest lake in S. California, and boasts trout and bass of trophy size. During construction of the lake many Indian artifacts and prehistoric animals were dug up. This June the Center for Archealogy and Palentology will open in front of Diamond Valley Lake. The finds are said to rival La Brea Tar Pits. Very soon a water park, swimming pool, hotels and restaurants will open near the new museum. The Ramona Bowl houses the story of Ramona, the oldest outdoor play in the Nation and the Califoria Outdoor Play. The action is 1 mile from Twin Palms Ranch.We also have many golfcourses, with one across the street. Major shopping is blocks away. All the Southland's major attractions can be reached within about 1-2 hours depending on traffic. Hemet is located due west over the San Jacinto Mountains from Palm Springs.
