Verdun is a charming little town of Eastern France. It is located half way in between Paris and Strasbourg with the river Meuse running throught it.

The name of Verdun is know around the world because of the ferocious battle that took place there during WWI. However, the history of Verdun dates back more than 2000 years. Events involving Verdun marked France's and World's history numerous times. Verdun is the most decorated city in France. on behalf of its defenders, Verdun received number of medals from nations across the world.

Verdun is today the largest city of the department of Meuse. It is a popular tourist center where, each year, thousands of people come to visit monuments filled with history. Numerous museums guide visitors through the past of the city and the story of its defenders.
