Brooklin, on the Blue Hill Peninsula,is a small coastal village of friendly and creative people on Eggemoggin Reach. The town center has a general store, post office, café, library, antique shop, sail loft, jewely store, paper maker, Irish Pub and three Bed and Breakfasts, music and art studios, and a Church.
WoodenBoat magazine and its associated boat school is headquartered in Brooklin while Center Harbor is just a short walk away. Boatbuilders in town include Eric Dow, Brian Rieff, Bridges Point, Doug Hylan, Benjemin River Marine, Eric Jacobson, Jacob Berry, Jim Steele, Atlantic Boat and Brooklin Boatyard plus a few more.
The nearness of Eggemoggin Reach and the general well-kept flavor of the town make Brooklin a beautiful spot to visit. The proximity to the historic communities of Blue Hill, Castine and Stonington make the Brooklin Inn a centrally located place to stay while visiting the Blue Hill peninsula and Deer Isle.
Brooklin is an ideal base for kayaking, boating, whale-watching, biking, sea duck hunting, painting, and writing or, what we like to do best: contemplate the quieter side of life on roads less traveled.
