The East Midlands is a historic region with many sights. The region played an important role in the industrialization of England especially the textile industry, but the history of the region goes back a lot further, to the Battle of Bosworth that ended the War of the Roses and put Henry Tudor - Henry VII - on the throne or to the days of Mr Darcy at magnificent stately homes at Chatsworth House, Belvoir Castle and Kirby Hall. For travelers who like the outdoor the region offers the rugged beauty of the Derbyshire Peaks.
