Spokane is Washington's third largest city, and the largest city in eastern Washington. Unlike its western neighbor Seattle, Spokane is not known for days of rain, but rather for snowy winters, hot summers, and moderate spring and fall seasons. Spokane offers many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, from skiing and snowmobiling, to water skiing, rafting, fishing, camping, hiking, and boating. Spokane is home to acclaimed Gonzaga University as well as Whitworth College, Eastern Washington University, and the Spokane Community Colleges. To the east, visitors to Spokane will enjoy our Idaho neighbor, Coeur D'Alene, a small resort town boasting a beautiful lake and resort.
