North Carolina is a state full of wonderful places to visit. From the Blue Ridge Mountains & Smoky Mountains in the western part of the state, to the beaches east, including Cape Lookout, Cape Hatteras, & Wilmington; there is a lot to discover.
Charlotte (the largest city) and Raleigh (the State Capital) are the biggest cities in North Carolina. Both are rich in history and deserve a visit of at least of few days. Wilmington on the Cape Fear coast is an ideal base for a beach holiday as well as a treasure of 19th century architecture. Asheville is the largest western mountain city and has been named one of the Top 10 places in the country to live.
Western North Carolina holds a legitimate claim as a scenic natural paradise with a rich cultural heritage, majestic mountains, lakes, streams and waterfalls, and a unique culture of arts & crafts, the combination of which exists nowhere else on earth. It is a place where even the most experienced world traveler will find wonders worthy of his exploration and discovery. It is a region of natural serenity. It is no surprise to its residents and frequent visitors that it has become a primary vacation destination in the US, as well as a favorite for those building second homes or retiring to more serene and greener pastures. In North Carolina, the High-Country of Western North Carolina is Paradise within Paradise.
North Carolina is one of the Top 10 destinations for travelers in the country!
