Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
2 Cups all-purpose flour or 2 1/4 cups cake flour
2 Cups sugar
1/2 Cup shortening
3/4 Cup water
3/4 Cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 large eggs
4 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate, melted and cooled

Steps
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom and sides of rectangular pan, 13x9x2, with shortening, and lightly flour. Beat all ingredients with electric mixer about 4 minutes. Pour into pan. Bake 40 - 50 minutes. Let cool and enjoy with your favorite frosting.
