Lovely beaches, nature preserves with walking trails and rocky coastline drives are only minutes awayThe English Meadows Inn offers a unique English "Country House" experience in Kennebunkport. The restored historic main house (c. 1860) and carriage house are situated on two acres of gardens and lawn. The casually elegant, comfortable style of our nine rooms (some with fireplaces and whirlpools) and our Cottage is highlighted by the English accessories, designer linens, antiques and pieces of our Oriental rug collection. Our guests often tell us that our gourmet breakfast is a one of the highlights of their stay. Enjoy Saturday afternoon English Tea. We?re just a short walk to the Village and Dock Square.

The rooms in the English Meadows reflect the style of an English country house. Chintz, floral patterns and stripes are found in the designer bed linens, curtains, pillows and fabrics. All of the rooms have featherbed topped mattresses, down duvets, and soft cozy pillows. Antique oak and mahogany and Maine cottage furniture decorate the rooms and common areas. Our own collections of oriental rugs, paintings and prints are shared in the rooms and common areas. Each of the rooms have a CD player/ clock radio, wine glasses, wine openers, and sherry decanters for our guests? enjoyment. Guest refrigerator, pantry, and portable DVD players are available. Complete bath amenities, including thick towels and hair dryers are in all the rooms. The grounds spread over two acres and the classic gardens are being restored. Some of the highlights of the grounds include century old lilacs, flowering apple and cherry trees, beds of lilies and other perennials, and some traditional English roses. In the summertime all guest rooms are air conditioned.

description of surrounding area:
Welcome to THE Season at the English Meadows Inn
If you like rocky coastlines, long walks on the beach, the tang of salt air in the morning, and the romance of the classic English ?Country House?, then you?ll love Kennebunkport and the English Meadows Inn.
Kennebunkport?s village and port, just an 8 minute walk away, are full of life and in addition to the charming shops and great restaurants, ocean pursuits of fishing, sailing, kayaking or just a cruise are amongst the best in New England. Great golf and tennis are also right in the neighborhood.
The English ?Country House? experience is at its best in the spring and summer. Between the one hundred year old lilacs, natural day lilies, the traditional cottage roses, and perennial gardens, something is always in full bloom and our cutting garden supplies fresh flowers for the rooms. Our two acres of grounds and gardens are a great place to wander about, catch up on a book in a hammock or lawn chair, or relax at the end of a full day. Our ten bright and airy rooms have a view of the gardens and some have a fireplace which can come in handy with the sea breezes on cool evenings. Our famous breakfast features local produce and we do magical things with wild Maine blueberries. On Saturday afternoon we offer an English Tea, with the best pot of tea this side of Claridge?s!
Our guests tell us our comfortable, casually elegant style feels just right in the summertime in Maine . We hope you join us during THE Season at the English Meadows Inn.
