200 year old Breton stone house, in the Bay of Mont. St. Michel, all rooms ensuite, open all year .200 year old Breton stone house in the Bay of Mont St. Michel, situated on the D797 Route de la Baie. Idealy situated to visit Mont St. Michel, either by car or we have cycles which guests can use, for guests arriving by foot use our shuttle service. The area has many footpaths, and coastal routes close by,ideal for cycling as the area is flat. Also the historic walled city of St.Malo just 30 minutes away, and the beautifull medieval town of Dinan and Dol De Bretagne, the ancient capital of Brittany. Along the coast is the small port of Cancale, famous for it's oysters, which are harvested in the bay. Across the unique "Barrage de la Rance" is the holiday resort of Dinard, very British in style with it's Edwardian architecture. The coast offers something for everybody and is only 10 minutes drive to the village of Cherrueix, which is renowned for it's sand yachting. There are organised walks in the Bay of Mont St. Michel from various points in the bay. You wish to walk in the bay you should only do so on the organised tours. The bay has the second fastest tide in the world, it comes in at the speed of a galloping horse. All the local towns have regular markets, that are well worth a visit and all selling fresh local produce. The local speciality is fish, with shellfish such as oysters and mussels in particular. This is just a small selection of what the area has to offer but with easy access to motorways heading in all directions, access to all parts of Brittany and Normandy is very convenient. we also have a bus stop outside our front door. Evening meals can be provided but must be booked in advance, For guests staying at Christmas, dinner and wine is free on Christmas day, must stay at least 3 nights to qualiify for this offer.
