General Information

Most historically authentic Bed and Breakfast in Williamsburg; only a 5-minute walk from the Historic DistrictNewport House Bed and Breakfast is Williamsburg, Virginia's, most historically authentic Bed and Breakfast. It was built to museum standards in 1988, from the 1756 design by famous architect Peter Harrison for the Banister Plantation near Newport, RI, that was destroyed on its 200th birthday to make way for a carpark Newport House Bed and Breakfast hosts Colonial Dancing (known as English Country Dancing) on Tuesdays year round from 8 to 10 pm. (generally not in Colonial clothes). Guests may watch or participate if they like (beginners welcome). We can arrange (with a few days' advance notice) for our guests to rent Colonial clothing, either for their entire stay or simply to go out to dinner at one of the Colonial taverns.

You are free to play our harpsichord or other musical instruments if they are not otherwise in use. Guests are also welcome to use our elegant living room, which contains a fireplace, or stroll through our gardens of flowers, herb, fruit and pecan trees. There are films available for viewing in our extensive video library of classics from the 18th century -- a good way to spend a rainy day.

Due to the themed nature of our accommodations, guests can immerse themselves in the Colonial period. Surprisingly, Newport House Bed and Breakfast is the only one of Williamsburg's 24 Bed and Breakfasts to embrace the historical theme.

Accommodations

Each spacious bedroom contains two 4-poster canopy beds (a queen and an extra-long twin), and even the blankets are historically authentic.
