THE NORA DIXON PLACE, built in 1960, echos New Mexico's unique Territorial era architecture. The New Mexico Territorial style house is adobe brick with sawn pine trim painted white and pedimented, divided-light windows. Adapted for use of available materials, the style brought eastern traditions to the frontier in the 1870's. Set on an acre and a half in the bosque (in Spanish, woods by the river), cottonwoods, Russian olives, fruit trees, native plants, livestock and vegetable farms provide rural peacefulness just 35 minutes from the Albuquerque airport. Visit Santa Fe, New Mexico by a short 50 minute drive North on New Mexico Interstate 25. The wonderful drawings found throughout the website are the work of Roberta Sinnock, Seven Oaks Studio, Tucson, AZ.
