Located within walking distance of shops and attractions WISE MANOR is one of the oldest BED & BREAKFAST homes in historic JEFFERSON, Texas. Built in 1851 on the ferry road into pre-Civil War Jefferson, the home has been in the Wise family since 1927. Furnished in Victorian era antiques and family heirlooms, WISE MANOR reminds us of a time when life was simpler and entertaining was gracious. Ernestine Sterne, the first woman postmistress in Texas was a distinguished resident. General Buell lived here for a time during the Reconstruction era.
