Refresh your spirit in this historic Greek Revival farmhouse built in 1864 and situated in a tranquil country setting with views that will relax and soothe. Rolling hillsides, century old sugar maple trees, porches and decks rocking chairs, gliders and hanging chairs, gardens, the sound of water trickling in the garden pond, the warmth of fireplaces and a plant filled sunroom, family pets provide the sights and sounds of a peaceful retreat. Spacious rooms decorated with a mix of antiques and contemporary furnishings create a feeling of comfort and relaxation. Each air-conditioned guestroom has a private in-suite bath, queen size bed, and conversation seating area. Some guestrooms have special features such as a jacuzzi for two, or a fireplace. Computer access is available in the office area. Guestroom amenities include wine glasses and corkscrews, candy, clock radios, robes, current publications, and toiletries. A full breakfast is served in the elegant dining room or guests can eat on one of the porches, in the sunroom, or be served in their room. Rufus Tanner House is 20 minutes from Corning and less than 10 minutes from Elmira. Watkins Glen is a 25 minute drive, Finger Lakes Wineries are 30 minutes away. The Pennsylvania Grand Canyon is an easy 25 minute drive from the B&B and is great for horseback riding, hiking and whitewater rafting. Elmira is the home of the National Soaring Museum and the National Warplane Museum. It is also the final resting place of Mark Twain and where he actually wrote many of his books. The Elmira College Campus is about 12 minutes away by car, and the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport is 30 minutes. Once you stay here, you'll want return.
